  • Fish fillets: 500 grams (any firm fish like cod, tilapia, or salmon)
  • Oil: 2 tbsp
  • Onion: 1 large, finely chopped
  • Tomatoes: 2 medium, pureed or finely chopped
  • Garlic: 4-5 cloves, minced
  • Ginger: 1 tsp, grated
  • Green chilies: 1-2, slit (optional)
  • Coconut milk: 1 cup (optional, for creaminess)
  • Water: 1/2 cup (adjust for desired consistency)
  • Spices:
  • Turmeric powder: 1/2 tsp
  • Red chili powder: 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder: 1 tsp
  • Cumin powder: 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala: 1/2 tsp
  • Salt: To taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves: For garnish

1. Marinate the Fish:

  • Wash and pat dry the fish fillets. Sprinkle with a pinch of turmeric, chili powder, and salt, Set aside for 5 minutes.

2. Fry the Fish:

  • Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan. Lightly fry the marinated fish for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden.

3. Prepare the Curry Base:

5. Simmer the Curry:

  • Gently place the fried fish into the curry. Simmer for 8-10 minutes, allowing the fish to absorb the flavors.
